In this grim telling of a fairytale, Ascilia- the town outcast- runs away and straight into Prince Terrics castle, where the least reasonable things happen. If she can keep the black rose from wilting, she may be able to save Terric and his castle mates before it's too late and he's doomed to remain a terrible beast. However, if he can't see love in her, nor she in him, he will be forced to succum to a disasterous fate that he has brought on himself. Can Ascilia break through to him? Can she get Terric to realize how similar they are? And will either of them realize their feelings for each other before it's too late for Terric?
