Emera is the princess of Monsea, she is graced with the ability to make people sleep and give them good, or bad, dreams. The only problem is that she can never have a good dream, never had and never will, so she thinks. She draws and paints the monsters in her nightmares, those monsters remind Queen Bitterblue and her husband King Sapphire [also known as Saf] of the tyrannical and sadistic former king,  Bitterblue's deceased father King Leck, and his active and insane imagination.
