Rumblings of footsteps louder than thunder. My body jerked around uncontrollably, I was praying as the last footstep sent our bodies flying airborne. We squeezed our eyes shut tightly, gripping our only lifelines. Each other and our spark of life that was dwindling to a mere ember. The last thing I can picture are those pooling sapphire eyes, staring into mine. That's when we fell.

His eyes meet mine, but there is no spark of any emotion in them. They are cold and dark making me look away not being able to hold his deadly stare. I feel uneasy under his gaze, and i feel his eyes burning a hole in the side of my face. "No, I won't explain because it's not important." He says in a low, almost, growl. I flinch and look back into his eyes. I feel hurt by his words and I don't know why, but I know he sees it in my eyes. His faces flashes with regret but it's quickly covered up with his faces going back to it's hard cold look. I feel my heart stop and my face go pale. His look terrified me making me hold my breath. "Breath." He orders. I start to breathe again and just blink at him. "Now go." He orders me again. I flinch involuntarily at his tone and jump back slightly. "Please don't let me walk home alone." I beg in a quiet voice, looking down at my feet. The next thing I see are his black combat boots right in front of my shoes. I look up into his eyes and he looks down into mine confusion written all over his face. "How come you aren't running yet?" He questions searching my eyes. "I just can't walk home alone, please I'm scared." I hear him chuckle. "You aren't afraid of me? What can possibly be scarier than me?" He asks. "Well, I know you will keep me safe." "Why is that?" He questions raising an eyebrow at me. "You haven't hurt me." "Yet." He mutters, but I roll my eyes.Complete

However, I was a kid when I wrote this so take it with a grain of salt. *** Like a deer in head lights, I freeze and watch as the car comes towards me expecting to get hit. But to my surprise, the car swerves to the side slightly next to me and comes to a stop. I take a deep breath I didn't know I was holding at the driver's side door swings open and a very pissed off Axel steps out. "Thank god," I mumble and place my hands on my knees to catch my breath. "Blaze?" He says and I hate it. I hate how he says my name as if it's his. Like he knows it's the only thing I want to hear, him calling out to me, looking at me, focused to me. It's the first time in my life I wanted someone's attention so badly I didn't care how I got it. And that was too dangerous for me to hold onto. "Are you insane or some shit? I could have killed you!" He says and starts to walk towards me. I take a big breath and step back away from him, "s-stop! Axel," I stutter still panting. It's then he notices the blood on my hands and shirt. "Is that blood?" He asks staring at my shirt and I take another step back. "Stop, stay b-back," I try to say confidently but I can't even breath right. Realizing he won't listen I start to turn around planning to make a break for it. "Don't run from me Blaze it won't go well," he growls reading my thoughts causing me to freeze in my spot. "Do not ever think you can get away from me."Complete

"Let me go!" I screamed kicking my legs as the shadow lifted me threw the air. We were heading towards a glowing portal. I tried freeing myself, knowing the fall would probably kill me instantly...yet I wouldn't actually die. I mean I was dreaming...right?Complete

She....I....... I was running through the thick branches, pushing the leaves out of my way with all my might. I had to get away. The wet, brown, ground made it easier for me to slip and let her red, chilling hands slip around my innocent, scarred body, not knowing where she would take me next. I was almost out of breath, but I had to keep running if I wanted to make it out of this forest alive. My red dress was getting torn to shreds, and my hands and feet had mud all over them. My long, bushy brown hair was getting hooked on every possible branch, making me push my hair in the back of my dress, just like I used to when I was forced to cook everyday for my loathsome 'parents'. Returning back to the real world, I had to stop otherwise I would black out. I took a few seconds to catch my breath silently, and to look around to see if she was there behind me. I was looking up at the tall, old tree when I heard a twig snap behind me. Just like in the horror films. I turned and ran in the same direction, not daring to look back and see her wretched face fixed on my body. I sprinted and sprinted, but slowed down when I saw I was heading to nowhere but a ragged cliff. The unknown would me known if I continued to run and jump. I stopped two metres away from the cliff and looked down to see a valley so far down. If I jump..... I die. If I let her take me..... the unfair horribleness awaits me. I had no choice. I jumped.Complete

I looked down the side of the building. Should I do this? I thought stepping a little farther towards safety. What have I got to lose? No one loves me, I should just stop being a waste of air. I stepped to the very edge of the building. Come on. I couldn't bring myself to just step off. My heart raced, my hair was drenched with sweat. Just do it. I stepped off, sending myself hurtling towards the pavement.Complete

"Is she breathing?" a male voice asked. It didn't sound familiar at all, so it was probably a police officer or medic. Then again, nothing sounded familiar right now. I could hear screaming and crying all around me. I felt soaking wet and hot at the same time, which I didn't think was possible and I could feel someone gently shaking me. "Uggggnnnnnmmm," I groaned. "She's alive! Come on kid, wake up," another man exclaimed. "Nooooooooooo," I groaned again. I felt so tired, I just wanted to go back to sleep, but whoever was shaking me wouldn't stop. My eyes slowly opened, squinting at the bright lights that were shining all around me. Two men were hovering over me and they weren't who I thought they would be.Complete

The raw, unbridled disgust and revolt that welled up in me at the complete opposite of my own nature only meant one thing, shadow magic.
