Maddening

Before we met Cath, the eventual Queen of Hearts, before Jest and Cath fell in love, before Heartless came to be, Hatta and Jest were friends who met in strange circumstances. They were under orders of the Queen in Chess to complete specific tasks, ultimately leading to one particular mission. Hatta, who is slowly descending into an inevitable madness, can feel himself fading away as he constantly straddles The Looking Glass, trying to live his normal life in Chess and follow the Queen's vague orders in Hearts. The only thing making it easier is knowing Jest is there, and Jest is on his side. Yet things only become exponentially more difficult and confusing when Hatta feels himself not only falling into madness, but in love with Jest.
