Once upon the time the Order of Sentry, medieval superpower protector (think Justice League + Jedi order) was destroyed by its own member. In the majestic battle that was follow the gallant (not) head of the order pursued the criminal across the world in an epic battle before finally defeating the fiend and avenged his fallen comrade.

Happy ending, right?

Hah, hah, hah...*cough*... seriously who the hell write this thing.

500 years have passed and the traitor returned to confront his aged/retired nemesis...with his defeat assure the old sentinel decide to reverse the tide by training his finest and final masterpiece...the savior who shall save mankind.

His choice: a misanthropic orphan British teenagers who created an elaborate plan to murder his conspiracy theorist uncle.

And the new tales began as the world was driven forward by a misanthropic teenager with too much power and no supervision nor public demand. May we prayed as our fate rest in a hand of the man who will act like a demon king, drove his physic teacher into an asylum and contribute to global warming just to spite Al Gore to save the very thing he hate the most...human race.

They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. Even after the death of the Monarch of the Abyss the world is far from stable or safe, what remains of humanity lives inside a singular city, protected by a handful of sworn heroes, monsters lurk outside, remnants of that awful day. Forty years later a new hero appears, bearing a scarily familiar power, he'll endure many burdens in a bid to learn more about himself and those he works with in this corrupt society where heroes are revered as gods among men and all logic is replaced with propaganda. A threat from within their own walls threatens to tear humanity apart from the shadows, the heroes will need to overcome both the monsters beyond their walls and threats from their own people in order to prevail, humanity's fate will soon be at hand, will it be salvation or oblivion?
