Ten years ago Shane Damien Collins found out about the world of Shades. A shade is a demon of who a person used to be. Shane is in a group of Shade Hunters, a group of young adults that are part time hunter, part time assassin. The Silver Shadows, but, things get a whole lot spicy for Shane's shade and assassin life when he meets a curious and sexy irresistible girl at the bar where his friends's band plays who can see Shades without wearing a special Pendant that Shane wears to see them. One Thing about Shane is that he has killed the most Shades and evil magical creatures than anyone else alive.

The life of Emmalea Claire Slatch was simple before she turned sixteen. When she was fifteen Emma didn't see the shadowy figures in the dark, the creepy sounds or the laughter of shadows. One day at a bar's teen night she runs into a flaming hot guy and finds out he can see them too. Emma's life starts to go south as the shadowy figures try to kill and attack her more and more everyday she manages to stay alive. While also, avoiding her new school friends, the assholes and her bitchy rivals in life.

"I walked over to where Aaron was sitting on the ground, kneeling so that I was face-to-face with him. He was wearing a blank expression on his face so I guess he didn't really care if I kissed him or not.
