Being constantly compared to ones brother can make one feel neglected. This is the case for Kai Walker. His brother was the star of the schools soccer team as well as the star of the basketball team. Everyone adored him and held him on a very high pedestal. This includes his own parents. For all of his sixteen years he has been constantly compared to his brother whether at home or at school. The most common phrase he hears is, 'Why can't you be more like your brother?' He made it through the years due to his only friend. A female childhood friend of both his and his brother, Amy Halland. But one sentence from her has sent Kai over the edge. The phrase he never thought he would hear from her. Yet it happened. Without hope he gives up, right after the sentence he decides to end his existence. He jumps from the school's roof ignoring the shouts from Amy. Yet it still didn't work. He wakes to found himself in a land unknown to him. A land full of magic, knights, and hero's. Unknowing that his current body is in hospital in a coma. Eighteen year old gamer Mato Takahara is put in a dangerous position after taking part in a failed BETA test for the world's first virtual reality MMO game(Blades in Paradise) which resulted in him gaining dual personalities due to the AI that established his connection with the game world. The AI which has now gained sentience begins to struggle against Mato for dominance over his soul. Because of this, Mato finds himself embarking on a perilous path in-game in order to master his soul and as thus, restore the thin line which lies between the game world and reality. He in turn; encounters several friends along the way as well as several foes which he must overcome to reach his goal. Yet, the overall question remains... Can Mato gain mastery of his soul in time or will he sink into the abyss as his AI counterpart takes over his soul? To accomplish this task he enlists the help of Kayu, a seemingly carefree dark elf(a third personality in form of his in game avatar) to go ahead and exploit the limits of the human soul. "Jeez! Don't go dumping all your expectations on me damnit!" Sigh.... "Fine, I'll play along with this game of yours but mind you, I'm also gonna have some fun while I'm at it; so grab your popcorn, cuz it's gonna be a bumpy ride!"~Kayu.

She says "this game is the only way for me to meet him" Later did she know, that everything starts from that. She doesn't know that the player just right before her eyes, he doesn't know too. But soon, the secret will be known. That they never separate from each other, wether in real world or virtual world.

2024 was a year of innovation. One of the greatest things to come out of it was the technology of full-dive VR, as well as AR. It was also the year of a great disaster. Almost three hundred teenagers from all over Japan were captured, tortured, forced into a VR game, and, should they die in-game, killed in real life. Kaze "Zero" Shiro's sister was one of the many losses of this year-long tragedy. Most who were involved in the kidnappings have been put behind bars. However, this event has forever changed Kaze. Now, two years later, he still seeks revenge and some sort of closure for his dead sister. Will he find what he is searching for, or will his failures lead him down a darker path?
