A Single Life

Leslie Destiny Winchaw has always had a fear of thunder, also known as astraphobia, after she lost her parents to a bomb explosion when she was five years old. Without realizing there was a chance they had survived she runs into the Big Apple, otherwise known as New York City, hiding in the alleyways for twelve years. After meeting her sixteen year old stepbrother she is reunited with her father, Walter. Her stepson has heard stories of Leslie and her biological mother, even her father, they're from a different planet. She doesn't know if she can trust Leslie with her new powers. After twelve years of hiding in alleyways and getting threatened by multiple people countless times Leslie's life is somewhat whole again, but can she protect her new family, control her powers, and trust her parents In time? Or will it cause her to crumble under pressure and end up like her mother twelve years ago?
