My jaw clenches at his words. He takes a couple of steps towards me, I can hear his heart racing from our close proximity. 

"Like you're any different." I sneer. 

"You're right," he breathes deeply, "but at least I'm trying-I'm trying to be different," 

"Why? So you can be an honorable man, so you can have a clean conscience?-"

"So that I can be good for you!" He shouts, "don't you understand?.." 

"No," I whisper, "I don't."
