The Midnight Express
Every train goes somewhere. In train stations, no matter where you are, you'll find a big board with slatted letters and numbers and the one most important column - destination. People line up with little paper tickets in their hands or tucked into their coat pockets, lugging trunks and trolleys behind them as they prepare to board the giant metal expresses on their way to everywhere imaginable. And every month on the darkest night, when not even a glimmer of light shines from the moon and the stars are working overtime to light up the sky, a train pulls into a random station somewhere in the world. It appears on the board that morning with no previous notice, and yet the line to board is always past the ticket booth. The train always arrives at 11:30pm and leaves at midnight on the dot. It is never early and it is never late. Tickets don't cost money, but there are a limited number of them so get yours before they run out. And the most important thing about this train? The thing that draws crowds to it no matter where it arrives? Under the destination column on the big board with its slatted letters and numbers reads one word - everywhere.
