"You deserve to be happy. Don't let fear stop you from getting what you deserve." I felt his warm hand circle my arm as he gently moved me from the doorway. He started to leave. I know I called out to him. I said his name several times. I trotted behind him like a toddler in a supermarket trying to keep up with it's parent. I tugged at his sweatshirt but he didn't turn to look back at me. He ignored me completely as he threw his car door open and started the engine. Then he backed out of my driveway and disappeared down the empty street. I just stood there, looking on, as if he might turn back and tell me he was kidding. Those headlights would spin back around in my direction. Any second now. But there was no Eric. He was really gone. I slowly made my way back inside and as I reached my door, I realised that I was outside and barefoot, wrapped in a bedsheet and it had rained.

[18+ only] "Eric, Did you sleep with her ?" I knew his answer nonetheless I waited for his reply. I knew it would break me and shatter me into pieces but I prayed to hear a negative answer when I very well knew what I was expecting was next to impossible. "YES" He replied nonchalantly. His hair looked messy from how many times she would have raked her fingers through it. His naked tattooed back had visible red marks of her nails which only broke my heart into million peices. ********************** He was the wildest dream, She was a dreamer. He was the bright sunshine, She was even darker than a shadow on new moon night. He was hot tornado, she was cool sea breeze. He was the dew on new morning leaves, She was a wilting flower. He was a rising morning, She was a dark night giving in to light. He was never ending tranquil sky, She was a dry desolate land. Little did she know 'Dawn' and 'Horizon' moulded them together to form a captivating illusional beauty. He had scars, she was his cure. He had a wounded heart that never healed. She was a disgrace, that's what she was told. She had her secrets cremented at the back of her soul. She had her past. She was a venom in a silver bowl. She drew all the colors from his life as soon as she stepped in. His easy going life became a living hell. A HEATED LOVETRIANGE complicating three lives in a long run. Lacey Martin has built her life around the familiarity of the local bar she manages...a home for her. Independent, headstrong, and content, she keeps her heart tucked away, aside from a few one-night stands. She stays around her close-knit crew, a family of regulars and friends. Her normal routine, however, is shattered by one night that changes everything. When an old friend returns to town, Derek, with a group of friends, everything shifts dramatically in Lacey's world. Among his friends is Natalia, Derek's ex and a woman who will date men or women but finds herself drawn to Lacey. In one evening, both women are caught in an unexpected and powerful connection. This sparks an emotional and intense sensual escapade that forces Lacey to confront her feelings she didn't know existed. As the aftershocks of the intimate encounter ripple into the following days, Lacey finds herself torn between her known life and the magnetic allure of a new, uncharted love. The intense bond with Natalia challenges everything Lacey once believed about herself, including her stance on relationships and her guarded view on love, forcing her to check boxes she's never known. For Natalia, the collision of her past, connected to the fame, fortune, and work she's put in, it's time for her to confront future possibilities. As old wounds and unresolved histories stir within their friend groups, loyalties are tested, and the support network of the bar becomes both a sanctuary and a mirror reflecting the complexities of love, desire, and self-acceptance. "One Night Was All It Took" isn't just romance...it's an exploration of identity, the courage to defy preconceived limits, and that life can change in an instant. Witness the transformative power of one chance meeting that upends expectations and challenges the heart to live more fully and fearlessly. Every moment builds toward a future where love is less about definition, and instead of what we desire. And this is just book one. There are seven.

"Get out," I said in a firm voice, but it shook a bit at the end. The muscles in his jaw tensed when I said that. Instead of getting out, he closed the door and started taking calculative predatory steps toward me. His eyes moved all over my length. My heart started to drum fast. It made me take a step back until my back was flat against the wall. "I said get out," I repeated, trying to sound firm when he was only a step away from me. He stood in front of me with his hands in his pants pocket. "Last time I checked, I still own this place," he said arrogantly in his deep voice, which made me want to sink into the wall. He stood in front of me. "But it's my workplace," I breathed out when he cut an inch of distance between us. His body was not touching me, but my body still twitched as if his calloused hands were moving all over me. I lowered my eyes and took a deep breath to calm myself, but my heartbeat raised when I heard steps coming towards us. "Someone is coming. Go from here," I found myself pleading. The steps became louder as if the person were just a few steps away from opening the door. I don't want rumours to be spread here. An evil smile formed on the corner of his lips looking at the distress on my face. "I'm not afraid to be seen with my wife," he said in his deep, low voice, sending shivers down my spine. My eyes snapped towards him in anger. I know he was doing this on purpose because no one here knows we are married. Why is he breaking the deal?

In the blink of an eye, I lost everything - my mother, my home, and my life. The only thing she left me was a debt I couldn't repay and a bounty on my head, and desperate times require desperate measures. ---------------------------------------- A mischievous smile spreads across his lips as he takes a big step toward me, and as soon as I am within his reach, he grabs my hips and pulls me against him. I lay my hands on his chest and trace my fingers along the outlines of his tattoos as he maneuvers me back to his desk. My ass presses against the edge of his desk as he lets his hands run down my sides until he grabs my ass cheeks " Are you sore from last night, baby?" "I'm fine." "I hope you're not lying to me," he whispers against my lips.
