One day while messing around on the river, swans attack them. Instead of drowning, they fall in the Celtic Underworld a place of missing children to become slaves of the titan Balor of the Evil Eye.
They escape Balor's wintry grip and are rescued and then brought before the Oracle, he writes all men's fate. To return home the siblings are set on a perilous quest in a dangerous world. They have to find seven pearls with seven riddles. They meet monsters, enchantment, druids and a host of fairy characters from Celtic folklore. Upon completion of their quest, they have to free the princess Briganta. Then they discover which one of them is, both a fairy changeling and the hero Mihte.
