When marauders invade their property and kidnap Shelby, leaving Keller for dead, she discovers there's more to the left behind than those that have devolved into their inner animal. At a camp run by the mysterious Isaac, she is met with the challenge of accepting that things aren't exactly as she'd assumed. That evil is counterbalanced with good. It's the future and all of North America is basically experiencing an apocolypse. The USA has contained all healthy citizens from the sick ones. The government has convinced everyone that the outside world is a very dangerous place. But is it true? Everyone has their doubts. And the government heads on a downward spiral when Jr. Soldiers Gale Mathesin and Vala Mininger set out to save their city from being overrun with the sickness. But will there be a bump in the road of their 'perfect' plan? No inside citizens has ever seen the outside world.
