When One Direction are told that this year they are to move into the X Factor Contestants House and mentor the competitors, they are far from happy. Determined not to enjoy themselves, they arrive at the house and begin to get to know the contestants. One of those contestants is Tessa Frost. At seventeen years old, Tessa is kind, selfless and funny, and with her angelic voice she soon captures the heart of the nation - and of One Direction, especially Harry Styles. But with the pressure of the public eye and the singing competition, a relationship is far from what either of them expected - or wanted.
