Diane Hunter seems like a normal fourteen-year-old girl. The only thing strange about her is her hair; silver curling down to her waist. Except when you get to know her, you might learn one very important fact about her. She is currently being searched for by US officials for three counts of murder, and her real name is Diane Williams. No one knows that in Scotland, though. Not even her best friend, Geleen, knows her secret. But what happens when the son of an ex-INTERPOL agent meets her and learns her secret. Jason Wallace can live with knowing until a eleventh grade boy is found dead. it seems that the only person it could have been is Diane. He struggles to find an alternative solution to turning her in, but the only way to do that is to pin the blame on a seemingly innocent tenth grade boy named Neillan Craig. Jason struggles with how to handle this situation: betray his friend or his country. That's all until Diane goes out to talk to Neillan and she goes missing.

Colleen Wheeler was a young girl who was plagued by the devil at a young age. When she was thirteen years old, she had watched her parents get shot and killed in front of her. She was sent to an orphanage after their death, her relatives completely oblivious to her existence, due to secrets her parents kept. After six months of being there, Colleen packs up and escapes. Now in the pouring rain, she was curled up under an old awning in an ally. When a man approaches her, she pulls out her pocket knife, ready to kill him if he showed any interest in harming her. The man knows she's special, and he takes her in as his new adopted daughter. He started to train her to become one of the best Mafia assassins in the USA. She grew from a cute, sweet girl into a coldhearted young woman. She has to keep her feelings locked away, or she could fail her missions. She'd kill an innocent person, if her new father commanded it. It's only when she's sent to kill a boy her age that she realizes that her feelings get in the way. Instead of her killing him, he captures her and recruits her to work for the FBI, a completely different place and way of getting the bad guys. Will this boy be able to tear down her walls and bring back the old Colleen Wheeler? Or will she stay as the icy, deadly Colleen Maddox she's become?
