The year is 2210
World War III has broken out after air raid attacks on the United States carried out by North Korea and Russia in 2206.
Technology is different. Warfare is different. Weapons are different. The world is different.
Johnny Stevens is a physiologist working for the CIA. Since the beginning of the war, he has seen thousands of people die in vain. Since the death of one of his best friends and colleagues, he has been determined to find a way to reverse the effects of warfare.
Another air raid is launched over northeastern America, even worse than the last, killing Rosanna Liang, a part-time music producer, and her older sister visiting at the time. The explosions claim the lives of several other Americans as well, becoming the most deadly attack of World War III.
During the reconstruction effort, Johnny comes across Rosanna's body in the rubble; one of the only bodies still in one piece and with clear identification. Her license indicates that she wanted her body to be donated to scientific research. He sees this as an opportunity to finally carry out his process of using robotic parts to assist in an attempt at bringing her back to life.
The operation proves successful, however, as time continues on, it becomes clear that the two unlikely companions may be playing with fire. They both know that Johnny's plan for restoring human life could either be used for good, as he intended, or for bad if it falls into the wrong hands.
They always say that playing god never ends well. Johnny and Rosanna intend to find out.

"You're different from what I expected," she said softly.
"How so?" he asked, glancing at her.
"I don't know," she replied, searching for the right words. "You just... have this way of making people feel like they matter. Even here, in this... nightmare."
He was quiet for a moment before responding. "You matter, Y/n. Don't forget that."

Y/n wakes up in the deadly Squid Game, surrounded by strangers and fighting to survive. What she doesn't know is that the mysterious Frontman is watching her every move through the cameras- and she's caught his attention.
