After her mother's death, sixteen year old Jia Bates becomes distant from everyone and refuses to let anyone make their way into her life, in fear of losing someone else. She lives like this for six years, until on one rainy afternoon, she befriends a stranger who becomes the only person who's able to make her happy again.
