"Please." Kira pleads. Her, a little girl, and a man are in a dark alley. Kira stands in front of the little girl as if to protect her, but she has no energy left. They both have a strong heart beat. The man, however carries a weapon. A dagger. "She's just a child. She doesn't know anything." Kira has a shaky voice. "Who said I was going to hurt her? The man has a steady and deep voice. At this point, the girl is confused. "What are you going to do? Kill me? Then what, what about the rest of my kind." Kira argues. "With you being their leader, killing you will be punishment enough for know. When the time is right, I will strike." "They'll be ready." "Will they? Who will warn them? Certainly not you, as you will be dead. And the only other person here is your daughter. Who's going to believe a little girl? And without her parents, she won't be able to tell the rest of your kind. She's not even going to know this world exists." Kira doesn't have an argument. The man looks at the little girl. "Say goodbye to mommy, Emberly." Suddenly the dagger is in Kira's chest. The man walks away. The little girl stands there, frozen in emotions. That's how Emberly remembers it anyway. The therapists say that her mind made it up as a way to cope with a traumatic experience. They said it so often, she started to believe it herself. They still say it, in fact. But something happened, 10 years later, that made it all make sense.
