Not everything is as it seems. 

That's something everyone knew yet never really considered or put much thought into it's meaning. 

It was something Anna hadn't taken into account until she found herself trapped in the clutches of a a monster - not one being, but rather a cluster of humans seemingly without souls.  
Of course they weren't supernatural or anything dramatically out of the ordinary, but who could tell what was what any longer as the games began to spin out of control? 

She was drowning in the poison these toxic creatures had created. Anna's only hope was to expose the Opaque, but day-by-day, hour-by-hour, she was learning of what an impossibility that would be as in time, all HOPE began to disintegrate.

There was, however, one dash of hope. 
It just meant going against everything Anna believed in...
