Tear Drops

"Ma'am," called Violet trying to get the girls attention," your coffee is ready."

The girl was staring at something outside the window intently and wasn't paying much attention I turned towards the barista and told her i'd get it.

Grabbing the coffee I made my way over to the girl and tapped her twice on the shoulder.

"Excuse me?" I asked. She still didn't answer me.

"Excuse me!" I said a little louder.

She turned towards me blinking rapidly as if trying to shake herself out of her stupor.

"Yes?" she asked eyes hazy.

"Coffee's done." I said sitting it on the table.

"Um, thanks," she stopped herself,"its just.. its beautiful isn't it? The rain I mean."

Confused and a little weirded out I asked her what she meant.

She turned towards the window and began tracing a rain drop that was sliding down the glass.

"The rain. The patterns. It's beautiful." she said simply.

Nodding slowly I began taking tiny steps back obviously this girl was a little bit on the special side.

Suddenly her head snapped back over to me.

"The rain looks a little bit like tear drops, wouldn't you say?"

I blinked and glanced back at the window. Cocking my head to the side

"Yeah. Like tear drops."
