Lance McClain was burdened with a lot of things; anxiety, fretful thoughts, a bad home life... But his obsession with stars was not, what he'd consider, a burden.
He was infatuated with gazing upon those burning balls of plasma, situated million of miles away from his touch. Lance would take up any offer just to stare at them, even when handed the slimmest of chances. Even when - realistically - there wasn't a way to see them. Even if the only spot to see stars were in a city, with hundreds of other artificial lights surrounding him, drowning out the natural brilliance of the real lights strung up far in the sky above.
Stars offered him a comfort that no one else could - he much rather preferred the purple and blue tint of the sky compared to the marks of purple and blue on his skin. He himself was blue; figuratively, yes, but he also cherished the colour and adorned it on many of his things. So when a certain red mixes in with his life and offers him guidance and support, will a new meaning of colour embellish their lives?

a/n: I did not create these characters or 'Voltron: Legendary Defender'. Credit to creation of such characters like those mentioned in my fanfic go to Dreamworks.

The Galra turns his chin up again. "Why do you laugh, paladin of Voltron? Can you not see the odds have fallen undoubtedly in my favor?" As Lance wiped the blood from his mouth, a weak smirk settled on his lips. "It's not so unfortunate-if this is how I die, I'm at least lucky enough to have a beauty like you in my sights, right?" • Lance McClain is losing everything. First the Blue Lion, then Red-and now, the trust of his team. He's always been willing to do what it takes to defeat Zarkon, even if it separates him from the people he cares about. But as the Voltron team begins to lose faith in Lance, he finds himself carving out a new path-one that he is confident will end with Zarkon's defeat. The only problem? This new strategy belongs to Prince Lotor, his enemies' son. Balancing his loyalty to Voltron and his drive to defeat the evil that has plagued the universe for too long, Lance will have to decide who he trusts-and how much he's willing to sacrifice for the greater good. • At some point during some stars' lifespans, similarly to Earth's sun, the star reaches a point where fusion ceases, and it runs out of helium at its core-and when the core begins to burn, that's when everything rips away from itself, clouds of stardust taking over the space surrounding and forming a stunning nebula. Lance felt the burning at his core. And then, like a starburst-he felt the stardust rush from his core to the tips of his fingers and beyond-he was dripping in it, the stardust, the quintessence-and knew in that moment that whatever he needed to happen, would happen. The would be nothing he could not do. Nothing he could not be. • Cover art by iaclos on Fiverr • (This will be a Voltron AU - it is not set after any specific episode or season, but it can certainly be read as an alternative to Season 8. This will also feature some deserved #Adashi and some #Klance conflict ;D )
Perdóname (Klance Angst) by BRIGHTLIGHTANDBUBBLY
21 parts Complete Mature
Teased, pushed around, brushed off, alone: all words Lance McClain believes perfectly describes him. The phrases his "friends" use to prod and tease him cut deeper than they intend and he doesn't let the world see how broken he is. But Keith sees. Keith Kogane, Lance's best friend, has realised they've been growing distant and doesn't know how to talk to the person he's grown fond of and would trust with his life as his right hand man. All he wants is to fix Lance but Lance won't let him in. Earth is where they are heading and where they end up, their reunion at the Garrison with family and old friends sweet - but Lance just wants to go home and take a break from the people he's spent years in space with that he believes hate him. But when he does go home, he's caught off guard by a horrific surprise that sparks their next mission against their long-time enemy Sendak, intensifies Lance's own mental struggles, and causes the tipping point for the "slowburn romance" between he and his 'rival.' Taking place in the events after season six (and before seven), this is the story of Lance who's a boy with a broken heart and confused moral compass and of Keith, who's the boy to help Lance face his demons while he tries to conquer his own in the process. Trigger Warning for: suicidal thoughts, gore, mentions of blood, and mentions of abuse Art by Joleanart!! (This story will also have fewer chapters and two smut chapters that you can skip without missing the story too much. I don't plan on making this super drawn out. The point will get across and I hope my story does too.)
