        That's what the stories say, anyway. That the sea boiled and turned black, the sun fell from the sky, and ionized nuclear radiation permeated each molecule of breathable oxygen. Amidst a world reconstructing from the ruins, thirteen-year-old Evy 023 has been employed as part of an arts troupe that travels to entertain the Outer Camps as a luxury to appease the poorer citizens of Base One's rule.
