How do we as a society define family? How do you define family? How do your parents define family compared to that stranger that passed you on the street last week?
Family. A simple word but a complex word at the same time. It contains four syllabuses and six letters but the word itself can contain a thousand different definitions.
If I was to rely on my good old trusty google- it would simple define it as:
''A fundamental social group in society typically consisting of one or two parents and their children''
But is that really the definition of family? Is that the best definition google can come up with when we live in a generation that has an increasing amount of divorces and people that no longer contain contact with their biological family. I may be ranting about the definition of family and you're wondering why? Your thinking, is she going to be ranting about family the whole entire time? If you're thinking that, you are probably also considering putting this book down and picking another. Or maybe you are the type of individual where I have caught your attention in the first couple of sentences. But all together, my rant of the definition of family ties into a story. My story. An appealing story with so many twists if I must add. But it all ties together... in the end.
