Those who survived were forced to find a new way to survive, a process called melding where the dragon merges with the mind of a human and, in most circumstances, takes complete control.
At sixteen, Soren Cale, yongest son in a family of assassins, discovers one of these ancient beasts residing for centuries in the Forbidden Sector of the Cale family home. Unlike most, Soren maintains partial control, fighting an inner battle for his own identity while learning about a long planned assault on the entire human race.
