The Blank Diary

He was about to walk into his house, defeated, when he heard the roar of an engine. He turned around to see a jeep racing on the street towards him. When it reached the sidewalk, it took a sharp turn and someone threw something from the jeep. It landed with a thud on the front yard. Then the jeep sped away in the other direction.
Confused, he slowly walked towards the dropped object. To his horror, it was a person, the one he has been searching for, for the past 37 days. "No!" He crouched down and turned her face to him. A drop of tear ran down from his eye. Her perfect face was marked and swollen; her lips that molded into his perfectly, had numerous cut marks; her eyes were blackened; her entire body had various kinds of wounds all over. She was covered in thick, sticky blood.
He quickly checked her pulse, it was very faint and slowing down. So was her breathing. He prayed to whatever God was listening, that it wasn't too late; but a voice in his head told him that it was.
