Six years ago a fire burned down my house and killed my family. There were only four survivors: my sister Laura, my brother Derek, my uncle Peter and me. Now Peter lies comatose in a hospital as my siblings ran from the memories.
Two weeks ago Laura went back to Beacon Hills with a lead on my family's murderer. She lost contact with us so Derek and I headed home to find her.
My name is Abigail Hale, and yes I know it rhymes. I'm sixteen. My siblings are holding a secret, a dangerous one: our family are werewolves. It's what got them killed when I was ten. It's also what brought us back to the place where it all began.
I'm different though. I'm weaker. I'm human. It happens; sometimes the gene skips you and we don't know why. What I do know is that I'm sure as hell not going to let my species' patheticness hinder my ability to protect my siblings. I would die for those I hold close, and with the coming storm I may just need to.
