Elle Livingston has spent all of her life being sheltered under an umbrella of uncertainty; evolving around medication and the ever present feeling of isolation. Homeschooled as a result of her medical condition all her life, she has never had the opportunity to completely immerse herself in the stereotypical nature of a normal teenager. But after a year of her condition only getting better, no dips as she and her family have grown used to; Elle has decided to attend high school for her final year and her family are in full support of her doing that, wanting their daughter to enjoy being surrounded by normality as long as possible. Elle is faced with new situations, she is literally out in the open, tossed into the deep end as she tries desperately to come across as normal. With the help of her childhood best friend; Jacob, she meets new people and soon becomes apart of a friend group. She is finally starting to fit in somewhere for once. She even catches the eye of the school golden boy; Christian Scott, head of the school swim team, confident and incredibly good looking. But is she able to come out of her comfort zone and allow other people to care for her, or will she cut herself off from the outside world once again?
