As I reflect on my life, I realize that happiness isn't solely defined by wealth or material possessions. My mother and her sister, both African, worked tirelessly at a hospital as nurses in America. My father, an American construction worker from New York, met my mother at the hospital after he was injured on the job. They fell deeply in love, got married, and I, Emily Sebastian, was born. But life took a drastic turn when my mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness, and my father mysteriously disappeared. After her passing, I found solace in living with my aunt. Now, at 20 years old, I'm navigating the complexities of life, love, and identity.

A collection of stories based of my dreams and nightmares. Recently I've been having vivid dreams and nightmares that seems recurring or just memorable. Either caused by my anxiety or troubles that I don't acknowledge. People always say that there's meaning behind dreams and I'm here to figure out what it means or just to share an interesting tale. Some people have wacky dreams but for some reason mine seems to be pretty creative and straight forward that's good enough to write a story for. That's what I use my dreams and nightmares for, inspiration. Hopefully you guys enjoy these short and easy to digest stories. Everyone, during some point in their life, experiences emotions, situations and adversities that changes them, sometimes for the better, and sometimes, for the worse. And then there are times when we seem to leave our body mentally, to introspect about the world, its workings, and the people living in it. Everyone has that time in their lives where they wonder about how minds work, how relationships thrive, and what makes them, them. Sometimes, it's at night when you're going to bed, and life seems just a little different when there isn't any light illuminating it. Maybe it's in the shower, where tears mix with the water, and go unnoticed. Maybe it's early in the morning, just before dawn, when the idea of starting afresh doesn't seem quite so daunting. But remember. You're you because of your past. And you're no less than anybody else. Join me as I put words to my innermost feelings, as I voice my opinions. Join me as I gather the courage to write down thoughts that run through every person's mind at least once in their lives. Join me as I break conventions, as I rant and rave my way through these emotions, challenges, difficulties, opinions, that have the power to make me, or break me. In the end though, the choice will always be mine.

When I said that I wanted to be different, of all the ways possible I didn't want it to be this way. I just feel like I am being played by my own words and I am being betrayed by myself and my mind, it is also not much of a help. . . . "You know, what makes the night sky even more beautiful, because our loved ones are there. Every day people lose someone they cherish and they go up there and join other stars. This is why they are so beautiful".
