Rania Perez had a life as close to perfection as it gets in Syria. Her father single handily raised his four children on a small farm, surviving off the land. Money had never been a huge problem to them but it was certainly scarce. So when Rania's younger sister- Lilith, is diagnosed with a life threatening disease, it's a major problem. Rash decisions along with sacrifices must be made, so when the Queen of Syria offers to 'hire' Rania she quickly agrees. Moving from her small farm to the royal palace, she finds the royal life quite exilerating. She has an inner battle, fighting with herself to do anything possible to return home. Only the Royal temptations prove to be quite the distraction.

Deserted by her parents. Hated by most of her classmates. Supposedly talked too much of what she thought. Zayana had always wished for a life of more. More friends, more family and more support when she spoke up. But when she goes looking for just that, she instead finds all the deep secrets about her family that her aunt had been trying to hide from her. Like how she was apparently A MERMAID PRINCESS?! But of course if her aunt had hidden her from all of that then it was for a good reason, like how her father's ex-friend was now hunting her down trying to end the royal bloodline. What? Zayana's confused, but it's ok, because she doesn't have to do it alone. Along her journey she makes the most unexpected friends (and enemies) and learns trusting a little goes a long way.
