Her toes curl over the edge of her small, yellow windowsill, keeping her steady in the wind. The morning sun makes the air light and she is captured in the beauty of the moment. Without a second thought, she steps off and jumps towards the grassy field below. Landing on her feet, she takes a deep breath and laughs for the first time in a while. Little did she know that her freedom wasn't going to last long. __________________________________________ Hazel has never been outside of her hometown in Elkhart Lake located in Wisconsin with a population of approximately 900 people. Almost every day was the same, she would wait in her room, looking out the window in the foster home, waiting for a perfect couple to come and take her home with them, even if it was just for a little while. As the days passed, Hazel started to loose hope of anyone coming for her. When she reaches the age of 16, she decided to take matters into her own hands.
