Cassidy Hall took photos of something she shouldn't and now she is on the run from her mobster ex-boyfriend. After three years of moving from town to town, she settles in a sleepy seaside town on the north side of Brisbane. There, she buys an antique angel figurine, and immediately strange things happen. Noises wake her in the middle of the night, voices whisper in her ear, and unseen eyes watch her when she is alone. She finds an antique gold locket hidden inside the angel and a note that tells her the tragic story of Tristan Neal a 17th century Scottish Laird.

Tristan Neal is dead. He is also cursed to wander the earth for eternity. After the theft of his grave possessions, he rose from his tomb and followed his items for almost 400 years, haunting and bringing terror to whoever comes into possession of his valuables. That is until he meets Cassidy Hall. He finds her so beguiling that for a moment, he forgets he is dead.

Awakening by BarbaraPy

This story was previously known as "The Awakening". ~*~ "One... two... three... one... two... three... a million... is that number right?" A figure less voice echoed. "Hello? Who's there?" Caliope asked, focusing on that voice. "One... two... who? A million... a billion... no, it's more... a legion..." Silence. She had seen too many horror movies and heard too many stories about that single word to overpass its meaning. The voice went quiet, yet she was still unable to see where it came from. She rubbed her eyes and all she could see around her was a thick path in a jungle-like scene. She didn't remember how she got there, but she knew it was for something important. Her eyes focused on the far end of the path and all she could see were more trees. She turned to the opposite side and found just the same. "One... two... billions... but always back at one..." the voice resumed it's counting. "Where are you? Who are you?" ~*~ -Her name is Caliope, and when she was a young girl, she never believed in happy endings. For her, there was nothing more than what you see in front of you. All she needed was her best friend Vanessa. Her background is very simple; a foster child with foster parents that were everything but warm and caring. Regardless of that, she became a smart and responsible young woman, ready for whatever came her way. At least that is what she thought. Her new job interview changed her life. It changed everything she ever believed in, and what she thought it was real. Her new boss is an amazing woman who has a son, something different from what he is made out to be. As she discovers the hidden truth about her boss and her son, she has to prepare herself for a whole new world that will unfold to her. ~*~ Intro collaboration with my loyal reader @GabrielleCarden Original Picture from the cover made by Marcus J. 60 parts Complete
TheFriendshipAwards 3rd place winner (2017) *** I take a deep breath and say flatly, "What I'm about to tell you is very important. It's called the Angel Rule." Everyone raises a questioning eyebrow at me, "The Angel Rule?" I nod, "Yes. It's something we all need to follow, no matter what. It's like any other rule. If you break it, there are consequences." "What's the rule, Emma?" "There are three concepts to this rule. One, don't blink. Two, don't turn your head, and three, don't look away. If you break any of these three rules, you're dead." *** Emma Rose Santana has recently moved into a small town with her family for a better life despite the ongoing relationship problems in the family. When Emma's mother, Anna, purchases a lifelike angel statue with a cursed reputation from Silverside High's golden boy, Mason Geller's garage sale, things take a horrible turn in the Santana family. Emma and her sister, Clarice, start witnessing strange occurrences in their house, from the angel statue changing locations to horrible nightmares that feel all too real. On the other hand, Emma faces a conflicting relationship between Mason Geller and his mysteriously handsome ex-best friend, Josh Price, with a dark past possibly related to the angel statue. Emma's parents don't seem to believe a statue made of stone could do this, but they seem to be hiding a secret of their own, just like Mason and Josh. As Emma deals with her broken relationship with her mother and a tragic incident with a person she loves dearly, Emma and her friends unravel the truth behind the angel statue, who is much sinister than it looks, along with the dark secrets Mason and Josh have been suppressing for so long. *** This fanfiction book is a spin-off on a Doctor Who episode and a creepypasta about Weeping Angels. You do not need to know anything about Doctor Who to read this book. [100,000-105,000 words approx.]

He pressed his palms against the wall on each side of the shivering woman, and leaned in, whispering in her ear, "Oh, I will punish you, and you will beg for death, long before I grant it to you." Cassidy never believed in haunted mirrors, not until hers started moving on it's own. It watches her, mimics her and sometimes it smiles before she does. Lately, it whispers in her voice, and in Billy's. Billy Hargrove has always been reckless, out of control and impossible to ignore. Now, there's something festering underneath his skin. He's tired, distant and afraid to fall asleep. Cassidy should keep her distance, but when his hands shake and his eyes plead, she can't look away. Something is happening to both of them. Their reflections aren't them anymore, and the voice behind the glass is growing stronger. As their connection deepens, so does the danger they're in. Whatever is in the mirror wants out, and it's wearing their faces to do it. They have seventeen chapters to survive their story, and not everyone makes it to the end.
