Cassidy Hall took photos of something she shouldn't and now she is on the run from her mobster ex-boyfriend. After three years of moving from town to town, she settles in a sleepy seaside town on the north side of Brisbane. There, she buys an antique angel figurine, and immediately strange things happen. Noises wake her in the middle of the night, voices whisper in her ear, and unseen eyes watch her when she is alone. She finds an antique gold locket hidden inside the angel and a note that tells her the tragic story of Tristan Neal a 17th century Scottish Laird.

Tristan Neal is dead. He is also cursed to wander the earth for eternity. After the theft of his grave possessions, he rose from his tomb and followed his items for almost 400 years, haunting and bringing terror to whoever comes into possession of his valuables. That is until he meets Cassidy Hall. He finds her so beguiling that for a moment, he forgets he is dead.

Would you sell your soul for fame? Adelaide did. Now the Devil is back, and he wants to make a new deal. Her soul in exchange for evidence that his son is breaking the law. But what happens when she finds herself falling in love with the Devil's son. Adelaide is caught between her past and present as her plan to uncover the truth starts to unravel. Unsure of her future, she fights to gain control of her life. • • • "Ms. Hepburn, we have a delivery for you," an assistant said nervously, a vase full of red roses in her hand. "Thank you, please just set them over there," I stated with a smile, pointing to an empty table next to my stuff. After she passed I looked over to the main entrance, there were multiple vases of roses. I went to the one that had a note pinned to one of the thorny flowers. It said 'Six hundred and sixty-six reasons that I want to see you again. - Lucius Stewart.' How did he even know I would be here? I was in complete shock. Six hundred and sixty-six flowers for six hundred and sixty-six reasons? He might as well have just tattooed 'Devil's Spawn' on his forehead. How could one man be so rich and so powerful, seemingly just as smart, but be so God damn cliche? It would've been more respectable for him to have put 'Hey! Can't wait to sixty-nine with you!' Might as well just introduce himself as his unholiness and tell everyone about all the souls he tortured during his childhood. I have six hundred and sixty-six reasons to want to make him fall in love with me so that I don't have to live in hell for all eternity. Un-fucking-believably stupid. Unless he's trying to mind game me and is trying to see if I'm just the stupid little model he thinks I am? • • • #84 ONC2020 #128 opennovellacontest2020 Made it to round 3! :)))

While her best friend Cassidy snacks on brie and boys in France, Darcy Li-Quinn must face her last year of high school and the unpredictable wrath of her sister, Danica, alone. Darcy's plan for dealing with Danica and her heinous friends is simple-be invisible. But first, she's promised Cassidy she'll do 'one brave thing'. Mustering the courage to say 'hi' to the cute boy on the bus, Darcy expects rejection or indifference. She doesn't anticipate a grumpy ghost with unfinished business who needs her help. Suddenly, a quiet year of flying under the radar looks increasingly unlikely. *** Rationally, Hunter Viera knows that his brother's death wasn't his fault. But that doesn't stop his guilt about Archer invading his every thought or lessen the grief sitting heavy in his chest. Changing schools offers a fresh start, and Hunter's plan is simple-be invisible. But he hasn't counted on Darcy, or her ludicrous claim that Archer speaks to her from beyond the grave. Suddenly, a quiet year of sitting on the sidelines looks increasingly unlikely. *** This is a story about hearts and hope and public transport. This is Darcy and Hunter's story (and a little bit Archer's too). *** 'Get A Life' is my entry for Open Novella Contest 2023 and is inspired by the following prompts. 20. You finally build enough courage to talk to that cute someone you see every day on the bus. Their face turns dark as they respond "You shouldn't be able to see me." 9. There's an urban legend that's been circulating for years about a taxi cab that doesn't take you where you want to go, but where you need to go. One night, you stepped into this cab.

"Hi, I'm Tara Morningstar. I'm twenty-two years old. Oh, and one more thing: I'm dead." For Tamara "Tara" Morningstar, getting in an accident on her first anniversary wasn't in on the plan. Neither was dying. What's worse is, she's stuck in a place called the In-Between, where souls like her; souls who've died before their time are trapped until they find what's been tying them to the earth, and let it go. But Tara isn't ready to let go of Tristan. Not yet. Then she meets Alex-Dark, gorgeous and brooding Alex is a guy who's stuck in the in-between just like her, and someone who has many secrets of his own. There can't be two people more different then Tris and Alex, and yet Tara is strangely drawn towards the mysterious boy; a boy she knows she's seen somewhere before. After a series of impenetrable events-all of which point accusingly towards the person she thought loved her the most-Tara realizes what seemed to be an accident wasn't actually one, and things start getting out of hand. Now Tara is faced with an impossible choice: Have faith in his love for her and stay in the in-between forever, watching Tristan from afar; or find out what really happened the day she died, and let him go. Forever. Highest Rating: #8 in Paranomal ***Cover by @apollyon***
