"The Red String of Fate" stems from an ancient Chinese legends that states that the gods tie an invisible red ribbon around the pinky finger of two people. The two people connected by the red thread are destined lovers, regardless of place, time, or circumstances. This magical cord may stretch or tangle, but never break. This is also more commonly referred to as a "soulmate".
