The Winter Child

Gael Targaryen, the 13th child of King Jaehaerys I and the Good Queen Alysanne, was said to die of a summer fever. Born in winter, she was called The Winter Child. But the summer did not kill her, for the winter child had embraced the cold abyss of death, eyes closed, with her heart numb to its core.
