You've heard the stories of Cinderella, right? The girl goes to the ball, her shoe slips off, and her handsome prince spends forever trying to find her before he sweeps her off her feet and marries her.
Well, Lennox Mallory hates fairytales. She hates Sleeping Beauty; she hates Beauty and the Beast; she hates Snow White. But most of all, she hates Cinderella. Especially the modern-day versions. Because in reality, stuff like that doesn't happen. Life just doesn't work that way. Lennox has always felt that way; she was sure she always would. That is until the Masquerade Ball, where she meets somebody. Someone who she dances with, talks for hours to and, by the end of the night, shares a passionate kiss with. But when clock strikes 12, he takes off. And Lennox is determined to find him again.
She's not exactly sure how it happened, but she fell in love that night. The one thing she thought wouldn't happen. Not ever. And she is not going to let him go. She can't help but to think she is stuck in some kind of fairytale. Cinderella, only...backwards.

Aschleigh Baker did not have a fairy godmother to rescue her when she was prohibited from attending the prince's engagement ball. No one was there to wave a magic wand and right all of the wrongs done unto her. Instead, she ended up going to the town's tavern to miserably celebrate her last night of freedom before she is forced into marrying her family's blackmailer, who knows about her secret imperviousness to fire. Prince Augustus never wanted to be forced into an arranged marriage with a stranger. Thus, on the night of his engagement ball, he finds himself visiting the nearest town's tavern to live one more day of freedom. There, he meets Asch and finds himself enchanted by her from the moment they first meet. Neither one of them was aware that missing the ball would lead to an accidental, irreversible marriage. Nor could they expect a person calling themselves the Priestess to set their sights on the new princess, intending to kill her for sins Asch is not aware of. To begin my story, I will tell you that I DO NOT own Disney, Disney Pixar, or any of the Disney Characters in this story. Now that that is out of the way, you should know that this story is not based on the pictures from DeviantArt where they all become zombies. Well, if it isn't about the zombie pictures, what is it about you may ask. This is about what would happen if one event from the Disney movie didn't happen. This story is about what would happen if Cinderella didn't get to try on the glass slipper or if Gaston had defeated the beast. This quick-read is all written in the form of haikus; a form of poetry that is written in a 5/7/5 syllable count. In this story, you learn about the lives these characters really lived behind the scenes of the happily ever after that we all know to be. You'll discover rich amounts of character development from minor characters and learn major mic-drops about the major characters.
