Meanwhile, there is 18-year old Sawyer Harble, who lives her life in a camp so called a safe haven, but a prison of kids who have magical, mysterious abilities. Sawyer is among the most powerful of all the kids at the place. The leader, who is also her abusive, selfish father, sends her to a city to seek this mysterious source of magic that he has been trying to find for years. He claims he's tried to seek it himself in the same city, but has never found it. While Sawyer is trying to find it, instead, she finds Eli. Eli and Sawyer tell a lot about themselves to each other. Sawyer then finds out, there's a lot more to Eli than she thought when she discovers his psychic abilities... she is extremely tempted to do multiple risks that she's never thought she'd be able to do.
