Dewey Larson didn't expect much when his parents forced him to go to a church camp for a few weeks during the school year. He expected boredom, but what he found was just the opposite. Joined by nine other kids his age, Chanterelle Richardson, Raven Mars, Ib Rouge, Charlotte Milliane, Elias Sterling, Zylphia Kettell, Niles Pines, Beatrix Lovewell, and Kai Hadley, Dewey soon discovers that he is involved in upcoming events in which an evil spirit known as Caldore takes over the world.
