Trapped in the frozen wasteland of Ireland, Peter and his brother, Felix, are in a constant battle for their lives. It doesn't help that they and the other Surface Dwellers are always in fear of being abducted.
Rachel Brown lives in the Glass City, a massive city that hovers above the west coast of Ireland. But the City hides an ugly secret, even from Rachel: without the slaves from the Surface, the City would fall.
Chaos erupts when Peter is ripped from the Surface to be a slave for the mayor of the Glass City-Rachel's father-leaving Felix behind with near fatal injuries. Both Rachel and Peter's worlds are shattered as Peter fights to get back to his brother and Rachel learns just how monstrous the people of the Glass City really are.
