Sights and sounds of the seaside
A portal of sea, blank canvas, outstretched sand.
Looking around surrounded by laughter
Tanned couples walking by sunglasses on head, hand in hand.
Meeting, kissing, planning their happy ever after
Children collecting pebbles, and shells.
And anything else they can fit in their bucket as well
bucket and spades in little stubby hands
building castles made from sand
stick as pen sand as paper
wring a message people will read later
kicking, splashing, laughing
jumping waves and paddling
someone's son or someone's daughter
Lapping up fun in the never ending water
Bikini glad girls with sunglasses on head
Linking, ignoring boys admiring glances
A boy and his friends Collecting sea glass in their buckets as well.
Sand in sandwiches
burying their dad in sand
kids searching in limpid pools, and climbing over rocks.
Not wanting to share, a little girl doesn't care. She runs off wearing flip flops.
A child produces his soggy soxs
Kids running to show what they have found.
Tripping, throwing a tantrum, falling to the ground
Young lovers walking by shoes in hand,
jeans rolled up, barefoot in the sand
bike riders riding, joggers jogging, dog walkers walking
women putting the world to rights
worrying when kids have gone out of sight.
Shouting" come and get something to eat"
Then resuming their position of worrying on their seat.
Dishing out plates of crispy lettuce juicy tomatoes and crunchy crisps.
Kids grabbing sweets instead
Mothers pouring tea out of a flask
brushes their hands away and demands did you ask?
Waves craving more people's attention
More wrappers in already over flowing bins
couples sitting, silently reminiscing of memories they made
eating chips, drinking tea, for a while their thoughts mislaid.
