A 13-year-old girl named Marissa is adopted by two men, Dan and Phil. They are married and felt like they needed to take their relationship to the next level. Marissa has been some really bad relationships with other couples that were harsh and cruel to her, she was physically and mentally abused by each and every one of them. She is also treated like nothing at her orphanage. Marissa wants to be alone and doesn't want to be anyone's responsibility. She is scared of Dan and Phil due to her past and acts out in many ways to make them want to take her back. She was just planning on running away from the orphanage right before Dan and Phil. Although Marissa acts out and has many fits, Dan and Phil continue to care for her, and give her anything she needs. Marissa starts to realize they are different and trusts them slowly. Her life turns around thanks to Dan and Phil. ********************** Phan book. IB: many amazing Phan girls and boys. Enjoy :)
