Alex and his friends, Dawn Marks, Lee Martin, Fletcher Clark, and Glenna Williams, Become involved with their first mystery when rumors being circulated within the school accuse their History teacher Mr. Ottis Wells of murdering a man.  Alex and his friends go about investigating Mr. Wells past to get at the truth.  After this mystery is solved with the help of police detective Brian Burns, the amateur detectives are eager to solve another case.
