When Mercy Devin's mother dies in a fatal car crash that leaves Mercy an orphan, her whole world flips upside down. Thinking the worse, she finds that her father, a man she has never known, has arranged for her to live with him in Neverasan, a country she has never heard of. As she wanders the grounds of her new home, grounds that include a wild looking forest, and a second mansion that looks as though it hasn't been used it decades, Mercy realizes that her life is not what it was made to seem.
