Elias is the son of the king of Calanyun. Being a prince would have benefits- except Calanyun is held under the rule of a powerful cult worshiping a young girl.
Syren was stolen from her family at a young age, and forced to be an idol of the people. She feels stifled by the king's forces, and only finds an escape in Elias, the king's son. Syren is falling in love with the only boy who doesn't believe.
And then Elias's father finds out. Elias is told to believe or be tortured forever. At odds with everyone, Elias is unsure of how to continue. Syren is in love but unable to escape. The two could save each other- if only they tried.
