Distant and distrustful Karin Uzumaki, former member of Hebi, Sasuke's small group of "Avengers", isn't someone you'd want to hang out with. She fends for herself and keeps everything and everyone at bay, at least 10 feet away from her at all times. And as far as everyone else knows, her emotions have run away from her. She doesn't trust anyone. She's completely alone. And she prefers it that way- keeps the demons of her past hidden. Except she doesn't remember exactly what she's running away from. Doesn't remember anything from her past. All she remembers is waking up one day in the Hidden Leaf Village Hospital, alone and in a strange, new place, a feeling of deep distrust with everyone around her.

Only one man can make her feel something- frustration, happiness... lust. He breaks down her carefully constructed walls around her heart and her ten-foot barrier. He's strangely perceptive and that eye of his can read a person's darkest emotions. They introduce new feelings to each other: ones of love, heartache and jealousy. Slowly, they work to reveal her past and her secrets, some of which Karin herself doesn't even know of. Would Karin be successful in keeping up her guard around the sexy and heart-stuttering gorgeousness of Kakashi Hatake or will he be able to break them down and worm his way into her ice-cold heart?
