Meet Reece Houston. She's led a perfect life. Reece is everything a girl strives to be: pretty, well-liked, and smart. But not everything in her life has turned out to be as perfect as she wants it to be. When her mom walked out the door on them three months ago, her dad has totally blocked her out of his life.
Enter rebellious Carter Maslin. He breaks rules, listens to no one, and always gets off the hook. When Carter's parents take a year-long leave to Africa on a mission trip, he's sent to live with the Houston family. He hates it. He hates Reece for reasons unknown to her. He hates his parents. He hates it all.
One night is all it takes for everything to change. It causes Carter to notice Reece in a way she's not all that comfortable with. What will happen to these two, who come from totally different worlds? Houston, I think we have a problem.
