Ashanti has a hard time letting people in. When she was only 5 years old she watched as her father beat her mother to death. That was the same night he killed her mother and shot himself. Ever since then she hasn't been the same. Now she's lives with her aunt. One day she meets Alex and it was love at first sight. For once Ashanti met someone who made her feel alive. She actually felt like she was worth living. Alex seemed to be her Prince Charming. That is until Alex shows his true colors. He starts beating Ashanti.
