Dark waters
On the run from his fate of misery, Cole finds a job on a ship. The job helps him to escape the plans of his father, but it puts him into a series of events that takes him far from the sheltered life he had been living. His one true wish is to find some place or someone that could make him feel both safe and free. He's unsure if such a thing even exists, but the ship and its captain soon starts to feel like it could come close to what he seeks. However, it turns out Cole is not the only one on the ship with a secret - and some things can't be outrun. 🧭 ONC 2024. Prompt 24. She was used to being alone. Used to hiding in trees, gripping her belongings as they searched for her below. Used to losing those she loved to them. Blights caused her pain. They caused everyone pain. She questioned what the point of living was. Now-a-days, it was just scraping by to survive. Then she heard about Ryseden, a utopia of sorts. They promise to shield those free of infection. They promise a warm bed with food. They promise a purpose in life. And that's exactly what she needs. u·to·pi·a: An imagined "perfect" realm. Where everyone is content; where things get done by people who are happy to do them, and where problems that have plagued our world for over a millennium no longer apply. Whoever came up with the idea was drunk, stoned, tripping or insane. Maybe even all four.Complete

I crane away from the touch which leaves sparking heat in its wake, only forcing me further into his chest. "It's about sexual euphoria." His travelling hand finds my neck, cupping it lightly. "What are you doing?" I ask him, hardly coherent. He leans down, once more letting his warm breath fan over the shell of my ear. "Making a move." He tells me plainly. My breath, in response, catches. "You are awfully bold." I find myself saying. "You don't get anywhere without confidence Allora." -•- Allora has known nothing but wealth and good fortune. Born into high levels, she's surrounded with maids and butlers, with expensive clothes and jewellery. Her world is one she enjoys. That is, until she meets a boy. An insatiable flirt with a charming smile and brazen attitude.
