In the quiet depths of an ancient land, a wandering man is chosen by a goddess bathed in moonlight. She offers him power beyond mortal comprehension, but at a terrible price. Bound by divine will, he becomes her blade, spilling innocent blood in a ritual of unfathomable purpose. But as the bodies pile and the heavens weep, a dark passion coils between them. When the final sacrifice is made, the man himself, she takes him in both love and death, only to turn the blade upon herself. Their souls, heavy with sin, refuse to part. From their shattered spirits and the corpses of the slain, something monstrous is born, a writhing mass of sorrow, desire, and vengeance. As the winds whisper their forgotten names, the gods look away in fear.
