Two interns, Rachel and Kelly, compete for the ever prestigious Emerson Scholarship. But a murderer with an insatiable hatred for women is on the loose. How many women must be killed for them to reach the bottom of the mystery? And can they fight their growing attraction for each other which puts everything they have on the line? Rachel Nichols comes from a relatively poor family. The fact that she made it into John Hopkins on a full ride scholarship is a dream in itself. To add onto that, she is so close to getting the prestigious Emerson scholarship, which would allow her to pursue her dreams as a forensic scientist. However, life is full of surprises. Turns out another girl is competing for the scholarship as well - Kelly Mason. She is well-to-do, dressed in hoodies and sweatpants, and is her new roommate. Rachel wants to hate her but she can't, not when Kelly has been nothing but nice to her. Especially not when Rachel feels the beginning of a massive crush on the brunette girl.

TW: this story includes murder. There will be descriptions of the murder, the victim etc. If you're not comfortable with mentions of violence, this might not be the book for you. I won't go into any details of any abuse from the victim's POV, I personally dislike reading those.
