I pulled my arms tight around Eric and I felt his tension drop. He immediately pulled me into a tight embrace. We stood there, shielded from the ocean breeze and what seemed to be the world from just the protection and security Eric provided.
"I'm sorry," he whispered. His voice was faint as if he had something else to say. Like he was trying to show all of his emotions, but hide them at the same time.
"Don't be," I whispered. I laid my head upon his chest and listened to his racing heart as it began to slow down.
