In a small west coast town where the most exciting thing that happens is the community bingo league, a misfit band dreams on.
Constantly fighting with her music-rejecting mother, all Carmin dreams of is a chance to run away with the band and never come back.
Never speaking out of fear of having nothing meaningful to say, Elyza hopes to find his voice and find his confidence in creating music.
Being a rich boy with neglecting parents, Ryan wants to prove to his parents that he is somebody and that he can make something of his life.
Having a voice all artist dream of, Vander wants to prove to the world he is more than what he appears to be and can follow through with his dreams.

They all know that they have talent, that they have novelty, that they have unity, and that they'll hit it big. All they need is thier big break, the perfect opportunity.
And that perfect opportunity comes with the arrival of a new band mate: Usha.
Finally replacing their old burn-out of a guitarist, their dreams appear to be closer than ever before. But they are still out of reach.
Until one performance brings them a poster and a road trip to the big city. They might of found their chance.
But the road to fame is a road filled with forks and divides.
With hopes and failures resting on the backs of the band, someone will have to make the once-in-a-lifetime decisions: continuing their struggle for the spot light together or splitting the band apart in an effort to go solo.

Violetta (Violet) Jackson has big dreams. None of which happen to include sitting in detention for a week straight for a lab disaster that wasn't even her fault. That's all thanks to Will Hawthorne, his friends (one of whom she unfortunately used to date and now torments her whenever he gets the chance), as well as a coincidental meeting with a kindhearted woman who Violet discovers to be Will's mother. Violet's goal remains unwavering - keep her head down at school and win the upcoming battle of the bands contest that would enable her to pursue her music career - but with Will now intrigued by her inexplicably taking the fall for him, that goal is easier said than done. Still, Will begins to prove himself as more than just a temporary derailing of all her best-laid plans, and Violet starts to see a side of him she's never paid attention to before - his optimism, contagious enthusiasm, and nerdy, unabashed love for anything to do with outer space. But as the end of senior year and the deadline for the contest approaches, Violet's hope of staying in the shadows starts to crumble and cause turmoil for her and her dreams in more ways than one. 17-almost-18-year-old Ezra Thompson is tired of two things. First, is constant chatter about Dilemma, an all-boy rock band, led by the supposedly-dreamy frontman Andre Robinson that somehow has a universal grip on every teenager in the world. Personally, Ezra doesn't see the appeal. Second, being in the shadow of her more smart, successful, and popular twin brother Emmet. Ezra couldn't ask for a better life. The thing is, Ezra, can sing. Like really sing. Only her parents who are occasionally proud of her, treat it as a juvenile hobby and she could never sing in front of people. So for now, her shampoo bottles get front-row access to her once-a-night concert in the shower. But when Ezra's younger sister, Maria, signs her up for a singing reality show called Finding Solstice, she is both angry and grateful. To her surprise, she passes the audition and is invited to Los Angeles for the show. Suddenly immersed in the cutthroat music industry, Ezra faces a whirlwind competition against fame-hungry singers, all fighting tooth and nail for the same prize. Amidst the manufactured forces of the industry, she must stand her ground and protect her passion for music. As if that wasn't enough, Ezra finds herself suddenly encountering a pretentious rockstar and is unexpectedly drawn to him. As the competition heats up, Ezra finds herself at the center of a brewing scandal that could end her career before it even starts. The pressure is on, and Ezra is torn between her passion for music and the fear of being dragged down. The stakes are high, and people are unforgiving, but Ezra knows that her music is worth fighting for. With her future on the line, she must navigate the twists and turns of the music industry and stay focused on what really matters: her music and her dreams.

"I see the world and it seems like I see it so differently than most other people. It makes me really angry most of the time. Especially since no one ever listens to me or what I've got to say. I try to express myself in so many different ways and no one sees it. When I sing a song people will only care about how the music sounds or how much I swore. If I paint, people will see the picture but not the meaning. It seems so obvious to me but everyone just seems to... close their eyes. Or at least shut off their brain. As if I see things they don't. But when they don't listen, how can I communicate that to them? It's so frustrating." Allie is a high school student and has big plans to make the world a better place. But her own head is pitting against her, throwing rocks in her path on a daily basis. Everything seems to be great for a while but what happens when her world suddenly comes crashing down around her? Can she ever recover? A coming-of-age story that deals with mental ilnesses, grief, first loves and family, briefly taps into the subject of religion and will likely enrapture you. Trigger warning: mental illnesses, self harm, death, dealing with grief, mentions of guns and gun control, mentions of cults, mentions of homophobia, dissociation. Names of bands, band members and song titles have been changed but at this point I want to credit mainly Palaye Royale, the band 'Homesick Soldiers' that is mentioned throughout is heavily based off them, but I'm sure if you're familiar with them you would have been able to tell that :)

*~*~* REWRITTEN AND PUBLISHED AS HUNTINGTON AVENUE ON MY PROFILE *~*~* Zachary West has it all. Near-perfect grades, a kind, loving family, and is a guitar prodigy. Seems like a wonderful life, right? Most good things come with at least one catch, though: He's blind. Following a move from Washington to New York, Zach struggles to fit in with everyone else. Little did he know that high school across the country would be extremely different than back home. He would endure new town, new home, new friends, but also new hardships. Will Zach find a way to fit in with his new surroundings? Then, there's Kelsey Davis, one of the popular girls of the school. She's beautiful, charming, and, of course, she can be a bit questionable. Luckily, there's almost always a side to people that nobody sees. Hanging out with the wrong crowd has gotten to Kelsey's nerves, but she doesn't want to leave her friends. Having such a reputation with the entire school has extremely high standards, and she can't meet them anymore. Will everything change when she notices a unique boy among the crowds who might need a friend? *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Disclaimer: This is the very first book that I ever wrote. It was created in the Fall of 2018 by a 15-year-old girl who had no idea how to construct and develop a story. It's still a very precious story to my heart and I will always keep it published here. :) Word Count: ~70,000-75,000

The Hummingbirds have been on the hunt for a new lead singer for almost a year now after Callum has left for his soloist career. They've listened to countless auditions, all done by ego-centered guys who were only in it for the fame and the attention. The three bandmates are exhausted, as is their crew. The desperation led to the only possible solution: accepting girls for the auditions. The drummer Robin and the bass guitarist Arden agree with Brianne, their producer, that this is the only way to better their chances of finding someone with talent. However, Hawkins, lead guitarist and backing vocalist, is not having it. According to him, a girl would start fights - if not wars - among the jealous and obsessed fangirls. Unfortunately for him, being in a band equals to being in a democracy, and that means that girls will be auditioning, regardless of Hawkins objection. As expected, most girls that audition are just fans that want a chance to see their idols. That is, until Aderyn comes in. An ex-singer on Broadway, Addie gives everyone hope for more success in the music industry. The band needs her talent, and she needs their money. Two hummingbirds with one stone, right? But what happens when success is provided not by her talent, but by her chemistry with the one member that did not want her in the first place? Everyone knows what to do when fans ask for something: give them what they want. And right now, they want to see tension and romance on stage. Even if fake.
